Details

Ex the Ministry of Defence this is an IARRCIS computer system, designed for the rapid response units, these saw action in the recent Balkans and Afghanistan conflicts.

Manufactured by EDS Defence / EXI European Data Systems.

Seems to be based on an Intel Pentium processor, the unit IS fitted with the original 9.1Gb SCSI drive and is operating Windows NT 4.0 with back office. The hard drive is in a removable case which plugs into one of the 2 SCSI bays.

Not often offered for sale, this one is complete in its original purpose made rugged transport case, and is supplied with original mains lead and original data cable which we believes interfaces the unit to a Ptarmigan set.

System is manufactured into a heavy aluminium case, looks to be bombproof ! The keyboard folds up flat and locks down to protect the screen. All connections on the rear have protective covers so that sand etc cannot get into the system.

Has an unbroken 'Tempest' seal.

Will clean up like new - if you want it to - we haven't cleaned it, thought it best for the buyer to decide how they like it to look - ex works or new !

It has a built in Battery backed UPS (uniterruptable power supply), the batteries of which will need a good charge / reconditioning.

3.5" floppy drive (Teac) TFT VGA colour screen.

Built in mouse track ball, military fibre optic connection etc etc.

For the non collector interested in a ruggedised computer, you could replace the current guts with a more recent mother board and have your self a bomb proof laptop !

Please note as we have a few of these the photographs are generic and may not be of the actual unit you receive, however all are identical so only the serial numbers and plate information may be different.

Heavy unit, international buyers please ask for a shipping price, as a rough estimate mainland Europe seems to be around £80.

Collection possible, any questions please ask and we will try to answer.
