A variable capacitor is a capacitor whose capacitance may be changed mechanically or electronically by increasing or decreasing the dielectric surface area. The most common types are air spaced, where air is the dielectric, and compression trimmer types. Commonly used in tuning and filter circuits. We stock a range of all types of variable capacitors.
