These are the old fashioned 'Painton' type of multi-stack rotary switch; 4 single pole wafers and configured with 10 positions, (so 4 pole 10 way) break before make, but could be made make before break by joining up redundant contacts.
There is no end stop on this switch, so it just keeps rotating, that is to say that after the 10th position the switch turns to position 1.
Manufactured to the highest specifications, heavily silver plated contacts, these have been removed from redundant military equipment, so the existing wiring will need to be removed before use, but as this switch originally cost over £200 these are a bargain and will give many more years of trouble-free use.
Standard 1/4" shaft, the unit measures approximately 120mm in length overall (including the shaft which is 35mm) x 55mm across.
