Manufactured to military specs by Elcom in the UK in the 1960's these are the old fashioned 'Painton' type of multi-stack rotary switch; 1 single pole wafer and configured with 20 positions, (so 1 pole 20 way) make before break.
These were stripped from military frequency selectors which had had little operational use, are a premium quality low noise, low resistance switch with heavily gold plated contacts and stators.
As these have been removed from redundant equipment, the existing wiring will need to be removed before use, but as this switch originally cost over £200 these are a bargain and will give many more years of trouble-free use.
Standard 1/4" (6.3mm) shaft, the unit measures approximately 65mm in length overall (including the shaft which is 35mm) x 55mm across.
